Mobil 1 / Airjax.com Corvette Earns First 2010 Podium
April 24, 2010

Paul Edwards and Scott Russell finished third in the No. 07  Mobil 1 / Airjax.com Corvette at Virginia International Raceway after running in or near the top three throughout the race. It was the first podium finish for Russell, a world Superbike champion and five-time winner of America's leading motorcycle race - the Daytona 200 By Honda - before moving to four-wheeled competition.

"My hat's off to Scott, he's come up to speed phenomenally quick for the short time he's been in the Corvette,” commented co-driver Edwards.  “He did a great stint and gave me the car in a great position with no damage. We had a good race car. I was confused after the last yellow. I thought we were leading, and next thing I knew we were around three or four positions back. They beat us on strategy. We couldn't do anything to get back by them. We're happy with the result, our first podium of the year."

"The car was really good,” said Russell. “We had a great effort this weekend. We tried to pick up where we left off at Barber as far as set-up. I'm pretty happy to be standing on the podium already.  Paul did a great job in the car."

The next Rolex Series race will be on Monday, May 31, at Lime Rock Park.
